Scholarship, Freeship and Prizes
 
 

Fee concessions are given to the children of defence service personnel and to the wives and children of freedom fighters by the Government of Maharashtra. Freeships are awarded to poor students and Economically Backward Class (E. B. C.) students by the Government of Maharashtra.

F. Y. B. Com. : The Government of Maharashtra provides College Merit Scholarships and Open Merit Scholarships.  Furthermore, there are scholarships in the name of Golden Jubilee Trust, Maharaja Takhtasinghji, P. P. Bhatia Memorial Trust, R. D. Tata Memorial Trust, Prof. Beri Memorial Trust and Limdi Scholarship.  Then there are prizes in the names of Sultan Chinoy, Adenwalla, Maharaja Takhtasinghji, Prof. D. S. Desai and Golden Jubilee Trust.  Also, there are University Scholarships and prizes in the name of Mangaldas Harivallabhdas, Sir James Begbie, Sir Ibrahim Rahimtoola, Lotus Foundation, H. N. Kamath and K. Premchand.

S. Y. B. Com. : There are Merit  Scholarships awarded by Government of Maharashtra, Golden Jubilee Trust, R. D. Tata Memorial Trust and Limdi Scholarships.  There are prizes in the names of Sultan Chinoy, Adenwalla, Maharaja Takhtasinghji, Golden Jubilee Trust, Percy Anstey, R. D. Tata, Prof. R. M. Joshi, R. R. Nabar and Co.-U. V. Desai and Prof. D. S. Desai.  There are University Scholarships too in the name of P. R. Jethabhai, N. K. Mirchandani, Bai Shrinbai and Prof. G. S. Diwan. From the academic year 2004-2005 cash prize of Rs. 5000/- is given to the student obtaining highest marks in Business Law. This prize is instituted by Cyrus Merchant in memory of his Late F.E.Merchant an eminent Professor of Mercantile Law in early 1970s & 1980s in Sydenham College.

T. Y. B. Com. : There are college Merit and Open Merit Scholarships provided by Government of Maharashtra, R. D. Memorial Trust and Limdi Scholarships.  There are prizes in the name of N R. Bhagat, N. J. Shah, R. B. Bhargav, Y. V. Deshpande, A. D. Shroff, Sultan Chinoy, Adenwalla, Maharaja Takhtasinghji, Billimorria Gold Medal, Golden Jubilee Trust and Rande Gold Medal.  There are University Scholarships too in the names of M. R. D’Souza, Chokshi Memorial, Lotus Foundations, Dr. S. K. Muranjan, Mangaldas Harivallabhdas and Sindias.

M. Com. Part I & II : There are National Merit Scholarships and Daxina Fellowships  of the Government of Maharashtra.  Further, there are Merit Prizes awarded by Golden Jubilee Trust.  A. D. Shroff trust (Day session) & R. D. Tata Trust.
